PIANO BEGINNINGS for age 3½ - 6
A Suzuki based piano course for young beginners is being offered Fall 2010 and Winter 2011

FALL 2010 SEMESTER: The class is offered for 18 weeks starting Aug 18, 2010, Wednesdays, from 3:30 - 4:20 PM and ends December 22, 2010, with one week off Nov 24, 2010.

WINTER 2011 SEMESTER starts January 5, 2011 - May 18, 2011, with one week off April 6, 2011.

The cost is $425 for 18 forty minute classes plus $75 for the Suzuki book, CD, briefcase magnet staff board, magnet notes and other materials needed for the class. For the FALL 2010 semester a deposit of $150 is due by August 15, 2010, with the balance due Sept 15, 2010. For the WINTER 2011 semester a deposit of $150 is due by December 15, 2010, with the balance due by Feb 15, 2011.

The parent attends all classes with the child.

It is recommended that the parent reads Nurtured by Love by Dr Shinichi Suzuki and To Learn with Love by Constance Starr before beginning the class.

There are no refunds for materials or missed classes. There are 3 studio piano recitals during the year and one in June that is a swim and lunch party after the recital. I also recommend attending the 2 Spivey Hall Suzuki Piano Graduation recitals in January 2011 and May 2011 as well as the one Saturday June 5, 2010, at 1:00 and 4:00 PM. Studio recitals and classes are held in Sandy Springs in the lower level of the instructor, Judy Blase's, home. It is recommended that you and your child observe several lessons before starting the group lessons. That can be arranged by calling Judy Blase and setting up a time to observe.

Group lessons eventually become private lessons when the instructor determines the readiness of the child. At that point, if not before, the student must have an acoustic piano in good tune in the home. An adjustable bench or chair and adjustable footstool are necessary to have in the home. I recommend that you purchase the best instrument you can afford when your child starts lessons . I teach on 2 grand pianos side by side in the studio.

The class is limited to 4 students and their parents
